Veera Simha Reddy

Veera Simha Reddy:  is a 2023 Indian Tamil movie action movie. That was made by Mythri Movie Makers and directed by Gopichand Malineni. Along with Duniya Vijay, Sweet Rose Shruti Haasan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Nandamuri Balakrishna, he plays two characters in the movie. S. Thaman composed the soundtrack and the movie's score.

February 2022 marked the start of principal photography, which lasted until December 2022. On January 12, 2023, Veera Simha Reddy was released in time for the Sankranthi holiday. Mixed reviews were given to the movie, praising Balakrishna, Varalaxmi, and Honey Rose's performances, as well as the director, dialogue, and storyline and criticising it for its length

Story:

Living in Istanbul is Jaya Simha Reddy (Balakrishna), and his mother, Meenakshi (Honey Rose). He decides to marry Eesha (Shruti Haasan) after falling in love with her. Then Meenakshi reveals Veera Simha Reddy, who resides in Rayalaseema and is in charge of Pulicharla, to be Jaya's father. For the past 30 years, Bhanumathi (Varalaxmi) and Pratap Reddy (Duniya Vijay) had wanted to murder Veera Simha Reddy. Why do they want Veera to die? Bhanumathi, who is she? Veera Simha Reddy left his wife and son, but why? The primary film will provide the answers to all of these queries.

Plus Points:

Nandamuri Balakrishna should be mentioned as the first positive. He carries the weight of the entire movie alone. The most valuable qualities are Balayya's regal appearance, charm, swagger, and flair. His abrasive demeanour during action scenes and language delivery are effective. Balakrishna once more demonstrated his status as the common man's deity. It is important to recognise how well he performed throughout the second half's emotionally charged sequences. In a few songs, he also dazzles with his vivacious dancing.

The audience would be surprised by Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's performance as Bhanumathi. She has performed in a number of violent parts in the past, but this movie's character is well-designed, and she absolutely kills the face-off scenes with Balayya. One of the main strengths of the film is her performance in the second half.

Pratap Reddy, played by Duniya Vijay, who seeks to exact revenge on Veera Simha Reddy, is the other character that deserves praise. His brutality is beautifully displayed. The TFI sees another superb talent playing a villain in his Tollywood first film. His confrontational scenes with Balakrishna are entertaining to watch and deserving of whistles.

Minus Points:

In this regard, the story comes in first. The director opts for a formulaic plot that has been used in numerous previous films. But he effectively runs the show thanks to his well-written screenplay. Compared to the first half, the second half drags a little bit. Additionally, it is predictable in the interim. The most of the sequences in the second half, particularly in the flashback episode, ought to have been cut.

Although Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has a substantial role in this film, her older appearance is not particularly stunning. The makeup professionals ought to have taken greater care of her appearance because she appears pale in numerous scenes.

Shruti Haasan is only allowed to appear in a few sequences and songs. She is a strong leader.

Premise:

The sole child of his devoted mother Meenakshi, Jai Simha Reddy, owns a car business and a restaurant in Istanbul, Turkey. He falls in love with Eesha, the business magnate Jayaram's daughter, and lives with his unmarried mother. Jai discovers that his father Veera Simha Reddy is a faction leader in Pulicherla, Rayalaseema, just before they become engaged. Veera travels to Turkey at Meenakshi's invitation to discuss Jai's impending nuptials. However, things take a tragic turn when Veera is killed, and Jai learns about Veera's rivalry with Musali Madugu Pratap Reddy, Bhanumati, Shekar, and Rajagopal, a business magnate, as well as how he came to be estranged from his family

[5] [6] On November 13, 2021, a pooja ceremony officially introduced the movie.  By the first quarter of 2022, the movie was reportedly set to begin production.

The movie's primary photography in Sircilla began on February 18 and lasted until December 2022

Critical response:

Both critics and viewers had conflicting opinions about Veera Simha Reddy.
"On the whole, Veera Simha Reddy is a competent action entertainer that has all the commercial components to entertain Balakrishna fans," said 123telugu.com, awarding it three out of five stars. Both Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Balakrishna deliver astounding performances as Veera Simha Reddy. The second half is largely disappointing; if it had been as interesting as the first, the movie would have been a box office smash. Fans will enjoy it, and action fans will find it to be a decent experience. Watch it this Sankranthi to take in the Balayya crowd.

The film "thrives on violence and some superbly shot action sequences, which are a joy to see," according to Haricharan Pudipeddi of Hindustan Times. Balakrishna, who plays Veera Simha Reddy, the movie's protagonist, effectively stars as himself and holds the movie together.  Veera Simha Reddy is clearly Balakrishna's film, according to Neeshita Nyayapati of The Times of India, who gave it 2.5 out of 5 stars. He succeeds as Veera, but he falls short as Jai. When the man appears on screen wearing all black, that's when you want to pay attention, but his cakey makeup and lacklustre performance as the other character detract from that. "Violent scenes that lean on shock value, powerful adversaries, and an intriguing wider plot worked," commented Bhuvanesh Chandar of The Hindu.

"The first half of Veera Simha Reddy's performance is excellent and a feast for the eyes. The second half, though, is disappointing. The second half of the old school only appeals to supporters and B-C centres. The audience for this movie will be determined by box office, targeted mass, the holiday season, and competition movie outcomes." [24] Greatandhra.com said and rated it 2.25 out of 5 stars ""Veera Simha Reddy" is a stupid masala drama with lots of fight scenes overall. The movie's second half is awful, even though the first half is enjoyable. The movie is not intended for general audiences; rather, it is primarily for ardent Balayya aficionados."
