In Mumbai, Maharashtra, Nayar was born and reared in a Gujarati household. Her mother helped her father, a businessman, run a modest bearings company. [7][8] She received her undergraduate degree in business administration from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics and her postgraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.

Career:

Nayar began a 19-year tenure with the Kotak Mahindra Group in 1993. She was appointed managing director in 2005 and left her position in 2012.

She started Nykaa in April 2012, at the age of 50[12], with $2 million of her own funds.

By 2021, Nykaa's value had increased to $2.3 billion, boosting Nayar's net worth to an estimated $1.1 billion. One of two self-made female billionaires in India, along with Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, is Nayar.

On November 10, 2021, Nykaa went public with a valuation of $13 billion. Nayar's net worth increased to $6.5 billion shortly after Nykaa went public, making her the richest woman in India and propelling her into the top 20 Indians by net worth.

In 1987, she wed Sanjay Nayar, whom she had met while attending business school. The CEO of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts India is her spouse. Adwaita Nayar and Anchit Nayar are her two children.

This inspired her to make a difference in people's lives, so after graduating from the Polytechnic for Women in New Delhi, she travelled to Europe to study skin care, makeup, and food and nutrition.

Kiran Mazumdar was born to Gujarati parents in Bangalore, the state of Karnataka. Bishop Cotton Girl's High School in Bangalore, where she received her education, awarded her a diploma in 1968. She then enrolled in Mount Carmel College, Bangalore, a women's college that is a part of Bangalore University and offers pre-university courses. She majored in biology and zoology, earning a bachelor's degree in zoology from Bangalore University in 1973. Mazumdar wanted to attend medical school, but was unable to find financial aid.

Rasendra Mazumdar, her father, was the chief brewer of United Breweries.  He advised her to pursue a career in brewmaster training, a very unconventional sector for women, and study fermentation science.  ye.commastmastmastmastmastmastmastmastmas, and She was the sole female student in the brewing course in 1974, and she excelled at it.  In 1975, she received her degree as a master brewer.
